NOTICE ON ENVIRONMENTAL OVERSIGHT
SMALL BRIEF ON CURRENT ENVIRONMENTAL DISCARD
1. WASTE MANAGEMENT and SANITAION
Violation of all Waste Rules 2016 (Solid, Plastic, E-Waste, Bio-Medical, Hazardous, C&D Waste) at all GPs, TPs, ZPs of Karnataka and at most of the ULBs.
With PDOs, EOs, CEOs, DCs, GPs & TP & ZP members, being accountable at Rural areas, well sanctioned/validated by RDPR.
With COs, HIs, EEs, DUDCs, DCs and Councillors being accountable at Urban areas, well sanctioned/validated by DMA & UDD, with well depicted Legacy waste everywhere.
2. NOISE POLLUTION
Violation of Noise Pollution Rules 2000 (that need to be urgently amended to include the Low Frequency Pollution) by all Local Bodies and Police Body.
3. LIQUID WASTE MANAGEMENT
Violation of Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act, 1974, through discharge of untreated sewage into Rajakaluves, backwaters, rivers, seashore, etc. with thousands of residential layouts and commercial hubs bypassing legal conventions.
4. CONSTRUCTION IN NO-DEVELOPMENT ZONES
Violation of CRZ Notification 2019 by all Local Bodies (Rural or Urban) at the Karnataka coast, sanctioned by ROs of E, DCs, TD, KSCZMA, KMB, DCZMC, by the mushrooming of thousands of illegal buildings impacting turtles, dunes, mangroves, all ecosystems biodiversity, local communities.
5. NON-FOREST USE OF FOREST LAND
Violation of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980 by Rural Bodies diverting its use for landfill, dumping and burning of wastes by unregulated tourist activities
6. SINGLE USE PLASTICS
Violation of the Plastic Waste Management Rules (Central and State) by all statutory authorities
